ASEANX

Privacy notice

This is a plain-language description of how ASEANX works today. It is waiting for legal review and may change before launch.

What we keep

  • Your name, email address, organisation, job title, country and phone number.
  • What you post: the business, its figures, and who is allowed to see it.
  • If you are an adviser, the name and email address of the owner you say you act for. We use them to write to that person and confirm they agree, and to spot the same business being listed twice.
  • What you agreed to and when: the terms, this notice and, for a buyer, the confidentiality undertaking, with which wording each time.
  • What a buyer is looking for, and the introduction requests and notes they send.
  • Which approved buyers have opened each post, so that each is counted once. Only our team can see which buyers. A seller sees only the number.
  • Notes our team writes about a post, a buyer or a request, and a record of the decisions we make.
  • A draft post you are typing is also kept in your own browser, on that device, until you send it or fourteen days pass.

Who sees what

  • Buyers see a post under its codename only, with revenue and EBITDA as ranges. They never see the business name, its owner or its adviser.
  • Sellers see a buyer’s type and what they look for only if the buyer agreed to share that, and never the buyer’s name. A buyer’s organisation name goes to a seller only when the buyer has asked for an introduction and the seller has agreed to it.
  • Our team can share a post with a colleague at your firm, or hand it to them, if you cannot carry on. A colleague it is shared with sees the introduction requests on it and can answer them; one it is handed to owns it.
  • The ASEANX team can see everything, because we review every post and every buyer before anything goes live.
  • We do not sell or rent your details, and we do not show advertising.

Email

We email you about your account, your posts and your requests. Approved buyers also get an email when a new post matches what they are looking for, and a weekly list. Both can be switched off under Account.

Who handles your data for us

  • Supabase hosts the database and sends sign-in links.
  • Cloudflare hosts the website and checks that a visitor is a person.
  • Resend delivers the emails we send you.

These providers may handle your details outside your own country. An introduction sends the details you agreed to share to the other party, who may be in another country.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that keep you signed in, and one short-lived cookie that remembers the page you were on, so signing in brings you back to it. The check that you are a person on the sign-in and sign-up pages is run by Cloudflare, and the site’s servers keep ordinary request logs for a few days. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you at any time. Write to hello@aseanx.org and we will reply within a few working days. We keep your details while your account is open. A post you withdraw is closed and hidden from buyers, but we keep it until you ask us to delete it. We delete your details when you ask, from your Account page or by writing to us. What we keep is a record that an introduction took place (its reference and its dates), and a record that the account agreed to our terms (which wording, and when), with no names and none of the words written about it.
